This year the World Star Foundation, the charitable arm of popular entertainment website WorldStarHipHop.com, will host its 3rd annual Back to School – Backpack Giveaway on August 30, 2015 to provide underprivileged children and families of Jamaica, Queens, NY essential school supplies to assist in the back to school process. In 2014 the WorldStar Foundation descended upon the plaza of Jamaica’s famed Colosseum Mall to give away backpacks filled with school supplies to over 1,000 children while celebrity guests such as famed actor and Grammy winning Queens native L.L. Cool J and rapper French Montana rolled up their sleeves to provide hours of physical support by packing backpacks and giving words of motivation to the kids. In addition to free backpacks and supplies a free raffle was held where two iPad minis, two smart phones and 10-$100 Amazon gift cards were given away to students. “We were able to help over one thousand elementary and middle school children living in and around the Jamaica, Queens area last year and we want to expand the reach to even more this year” - Lee “Q” O’Denat, Founder/CEO, WorldStar Hip Hop This year’s back to school event takes place on Sunday, Aug. 30th at 12pm EST at the Jamaica Colosseum Mall, (89-02 165th St #101, Jamaica, NY 11432).
